About BFS 11 - Coastal Meadow Grassland Seed Mix
BFS11 is a conservation grade seed mix bred for the coast: 26 UK native wildflowers combined with 9 grasses, designed for the low fertility, salt-sprayed ground around sea cliffs and shingle beaches. It matches NVC maritime cliff communities MC1 to MC12 and the ‘maritime cliff and slope’ habitat of principal importance. Because the sward establishes on shallow, low fertility soils, it needs little ongoing management once established. Coastal grassland like this supports foraging Chough and gives shelter to invertebrates such as the Glanville Fritillary.
