A 100% wildflower seed mix developed for green roofs, where growing conditions are shallow, dry and low in fertility. All species are drought tolerant. Once established, the sward needs little upkeep, and bees, moths and other insects use it for forage. Sowing rate: 1 to 2g/m². Contains: wildflowers 100% (21 species).
A diverse wildflower seed mix developed for biodiverse green roofs in urban and countryside settings. It contains 21 UK native wildflowers and sedum, formulated to meet BREEAM requirements.
The mix provides forage for invertebrates and food for birds. Viper’s bugloss and bird’s-foot trefoil have a long flowering period and attract bumblebee species, while plantain and knapweed produce seed that birds feed on. It suits lightweight, recycled crushed brick green roof substrates. Because fertility is low and the environment is dry, the sward needs very little maintenance beyond controlling pernicious weeds that arrive naturally, such as buddleia. The mix also includes stonecrops, which provide ground cover during extended periods of drought and habitat for notable invertebrates.
Sowing rate: 1 to 2g/m². Contains: wildflowers 100% (21 species).
All seeds specified in this mixture are subject to availability at the time of purchase.
