A flowering wildflower lawn mix made entirely from 21 low-growing, creeping species, with no grass included. It suits a wide range of soils and tolerates semi-shade, and it can be mown regularly like an ordinary lawn. More wildlife-friendly than turf grass, it works as a flowering alternative to a full wildflower meadow. Sowing rate 2g/m², 100% wildflowers (21 species).
This flowering wildflower lawn mix replaces a grass lawn with a carpet of low, creeping flowers that still copes with regular mowing and everyday garden use. It suits sites where a full-height wildflower meadow would be impractical, and unlike ordinary turf, it has real value for pollinators and garden birds. The 21 species in the mix were chosen to tolerate a wide range of soils and part shade, and there is no grass in the blend at all, so nothing crowds out the flowers. Some grass may still find its way in over time; hand-weed it out, or leave it to mix through if you do not mind a less formal look.
Cut less often in spring, so primroses and cowslip get the chance to flower, and again during the peak flowering season from June to July. Garden bumblebees, large garden bumblebees and common garden birds such as thrushes all benefit from this flowering lawn.
This mix is sown at 2g/m² and is 100% wildflowers, made up of the 21 species listed below.
Please note that all species in this mix are subject to availability at the time of order.
