Reptile Fencing

In stock

Herpetosure reptile fencing is a reusable, recyclable barrier that installs quickly and carries a 10-year UV guarantee, so it suits medium and long-term ecological projects. Its beige colour resists expansion and contraction better than black fencing in direct sun, so panels stay taut through seasonal temperature swings.

About Reptile Fencing

Herpetosure reptile fencing is a beige, UV-stable polypropylene barrier for keeping reptiles out of a working area, or contained within one, while ecological or construction work is under way. It is reusable and recyclable, installs quickly, and carries a 10-year UV guarantee, so it suits projects running for several months or longer. The beige panels also resist expansion and contraction better than black fencing in direct sun, which helps a fitted run stay straight and taut through the seasons.

Fencing specifications

  • Temporary fence panels: 3000 x 900 x 3.5mm beige recycled polypropylene
  • Permanent fence panels: 3000 x 1900 x 4.5mm beige recycled polypropylene

Fitted measurements

Fit panels 225mm below ground and 600mm above ground. Timber stakes are available for extra support if the run needs them.

Fitting description

Panels go into a 300 x 50mm slit cut with a V-backed sub-soiler or “wiz” plough towed behind a tractor, or into a trench dug with a chain trencher or mini digger. Where site access rules out machinery, the trench is dug by hand instead.

Slitting gives the best result and the quickest fit, so use it wherever ground conditions allow. Once the panels are in position, close the slit by driving back along the fence line with a tractor or vehicle, or by compacting the ground by hand. This seals the panels against the soil.

Fit the panels on the side of the trench nearest the reptile population, or on the inside face if you are fencing a containment area. Overlap adjoining panels by 50mm and secure the joint with aluminium blind rivets, then support the run with stakes. On uneven ground, panels can be cut down or the overlap increased to follow the contours.
