Woven & Spun Bonded Polypropylene

Woven and spun bonded polypropylene are two types of weed control fabric, supplied as rolls or pre-cut squares depending on the job. Both let air, water and plant nutrients through to the soil while stopping weeds establishing underneath, and both resist puncturing and tearing in normal use. UV stability means the spun bonded fabric performs for up to 3 years and the woven fabric for up to 5 years.

Woven polypropylene squares

This woven fabric is made from 1200 gauge, 100g/m2 UV stabilised polypropylene and suppresses weeds for up to 5 years. It stays water permeable, so water, air and plant nutrients can still pass through. Available in 50cm and 1m squares.

Spun bonded polypropylene

Spun bonded polypropylene is not as strong as the woven fabric, but it is lighter to handle, water permeable, tear resistant and will not fray. UV stability keeps it effective for up to 3 years. Available in 1.5m and 2m wide rolls.
