Key features
- The mesh matrix gives immediate surface stability on steep slopes and other demanding sites.
- Made entirely from coir fibre twine, so it biodegrades naturally once vegetation has established.
- The open mesh structure allows easy planting and lets grass and other species grow through it, which helps soil stability over time.
- Around 5 years of protection, giving root systems time to develop and stabilise the ground.
- Rolls are supplied folded and compressed for easier transport and handling, and install quickly on site.

Installation
For general applications:
- Rake the top 25-50mm of soil to a uniform finish, working in fertiliser or soil improver if specified.
- Apply the agreed seed mixture to the prepared soil.
- Dig a 150mm V-shaped trench at the top of the bank.
- Unfold and roll out the blankets, keeping them in close contact with the ground.
- Pin the blanket to the downward side of the trench at 150mm centres and backfill with soil.
- Secure the blanket to the slope with fixing pins, at a rate of 3 pins per m².
- Overlap adjacent blankets and roll ends by 150mm where required, and pin them.
- Cover the matting with a thin layer of soil, 5mm maximum, to help ground contact and seed germination, and cover all outside edges with soil.
For ditch and channel linings, follow the same general steps, then:
- Bury the upstream end of the blanket in a 300mm V-shaped trench and pin at 150mm centres.
- Unfold and roll the blankets along the ditch, starting at the invert and working up the sides, overlapping end joints in the direction of flow by at least 150mm.
- Pin at 150mm centres.
- Overlap each new blanket over the lower one by at least 150mm, moving up the ditch, and pin according to the pinning pattern.
- Extend the mats around 300mm beyond the crest of the channel and secure by soiling or trenching along the full length.
Storage
