About Jute & Hybrid Jute
Biodegradable jute matting is a natural option for mulching in tree and shrub planting, groundcover work and general weed control.
It’s supplied in three formats:
- pre-cut mats, 50cm square
- pre-cut mats, 1m square
- rolls, 1m x 25m
The pre-cut mats suit individual planting positions, fitted around the base of a tree or shrub to help suppress weeds and retain moisture while the plant establishes. The 1m x 25m rolls suit larger areas, such as banks and bed edges, where continuous coverage works better than fitting individual mats.
Being biodegradable, the matting breaks down naturally over time rather than needing to be removed once planting is established.
