Nemasys Leatherjacket Killer contains Steinernema feltiae, a native nematode that controls leatherjackets (crane fly larvae) in lawns and turf, without chemicals.
There are two application windows in the leatherjacket life cycle. The main window runs from early August to the end of October, when the larvae are still small and easiest to control. A second, less effective window follows the next spring, in March and April.
For best results, apply to moist turf as early in August as possible, while the larvae are still young.
Application rates
- Window 1, August to the end of October (optimal control): 1 pack per 500 square metres.
- Window 2, March and April (reduced control): 1 pack per 250 square metres.
Soil temperature must always be at least 12ºC at the time of application.
