Corn Marigold – Glebionis Segetum

Corn Marigold (Glebionis segetum) is sometimes known as Golden Cornflower, Guild Weed, Yellow Daisy, Yellow Ox-Eye. Until recently, Corn Marigold was known by the name of Chrysanthemum segetum.

Corn Marigold can reach a height of 60 cm on its long stalk that slightly thickens just below the flower head. The flower is a bright yellow colour that can reach 7cm across with leaves up to 8cm in length. The leaves on the upper part of the stem are fleshy, grey and toothed, where as the lower leaves have winged stalks.

This is a short to medium height plant that is unmistakable when it flowers throughout June to October, with the bright yellow daisy like flower head.
